I have been a AAA customer for many years. I have only used their roadside assistance 1 time in 15 years (I have other services Mercedes and USAA).

I keep the AAA for hotel discounts AND TRAVEL BOOKS (we travel frequently and like their city books). Disney discounts are great (has special parting with tickets). On my last trip to AAA store in Rockville Md. I was told a travel book for Toronto was now $16 since I only had standard AAA and not Platinum.

The very nice agent offered to upgrade my membership (very soft sell and trying to be helpful). I am going to reduce my membership from 3 people to 1 and may cancel. The new costs are absurd. I can afford the charges, but feel the new charges for books very unpleasant.

I hope AAA changes their policy. Where is the historic AAA outstanding service?

AAA is morphing into a typical commercial service. That is fine, but they should not declare themselves anything else!
